FOTD : Angry Birds

The inspiration for this look was one of the angry birds, the one can transform itself to a bomb. The cutest bird ever!

And this the look that I have created. It is a sharp look using two main colours, yellow and black. A cut crease look, not much blending needed. False eyelashes is a must for this look. Since the eye quite heavy, I keep down the lips by using pale colour.

Bridal Make Up : Solemnization

I'm back! Sorry for neglecting this blog for such a long time. Hehe. So I did a make up for my good friend, Kak June for her solemnization on errr..last month.
Before. She didn't sleep at all the night before.

The cheerful and easy-going Kak June wanted a natural look for her solemnization day. I try to avoid a heavy foundation. Many people say you need to wear a thick coat of foundation on your wedding day. Well for me, that was completely not true. She has great skin, so show off the natural radiance and luminosity. Provided the complexion looks fresh and even. The pictures posted here are all my own. No official pictures yet.
Almost done

Malacca Part 2 - Ikan Bakar at Umbai

I cannot resist this once I’m in Malacca. Ikan Bakar at Umbai. Lots of restaurants waiting but we have our favourite one – Haji Nasir Ikan Bakar. The foods are cheap, nice and most importantly, the foods are fresh as they are locally catch and cook as we wished.
We arrived early at 530pm, few families has arrived and start to queue to select the seafood. Here, they not only offer grilled fish, but all type of fresh sea creature like crabs, cockle, squid and oysters and of course fish. You will get a slap if you ask for Atlantic Ocean Fish like Salmon – get if from The Manhattan Fish Market.
We chose clam (lala), flower crab, golden snapper (ikan jenahak if I’m not mistaken) and squid.  It is fresh, just choose the size and amount and they will put it on the weighing scale, and make an order.

The restaurant located exactly before the estuary. Our table is uncovered one, but there is a covered section. There are no walls, so you can forget about air-conditioning. Fishing boats arrive at the shore and unload some of the seafood to the long stretch of restaurants nearby.
Some people love to enjoy the grill fish with nasi lemak. I ate my nasi lemak before the seafood served. It is a small one and the sambal is damn spicy, I totally can’t stand the heat. The otak-otak quite good compared to what we normally have in KL. But it is totally uncomparable to otak-otak in Tanjung Lumpur, Pahang. The otak-otak and sata in Tanjung Lumpur is the best that I ever had. Proud to be Pahang born.
Grill golden snapper served with special sauces that is made from tamarind juice mix with soy sauce and added bird chillies. I don’t take this. Spicy!!
Clam (lala) is very fresh and fantastic.
My favorite is the sweet and sour crab. Forget the cutlery here, enjoy the food with hand is the best. The crabmeat is sweet, white and fluffy. Best gila. The sweet and sour gravy just oke.
Deep fried squid ring. It was alright, quite nice, but not fantastically good. Serve with chilli sauce.
We ate until full and no left over.
On my way back to KL, the traffic at first quite smooth, but later..

Malacca Part 1 - The Journey, The Hotel and Malacca River Cruise

Saturday noon after work, we were off from KL, and then heading further south to spend few days at Malacca. The journey was tiring, normally it takes 2 hours to get there, but it took 5 hours! Imagine you sit in a car under the hot sun, traffic was so terrible and moving at a slow pace? Plus you were bloody hungry.
The journey

This is the place where we stay, Everly Resort  Hotel. We arrived at the hotel around 9pm and have a quick dinner before get into our room. Since we were late, there’s no vacant seat for us. Urgh sad.  No choice, thus we have to enjoy the dinner with the VIPs. It was buffet dinner, but I can’t do my buffet routine (5 plates of foods haha) since I sat in a same table with the VIPs. The food was oke, nothing exciting at all
This is my dinner
Oke before that let me do a review for the room. Despite spacious room, there are a few things that I don’t like. I do not expect to have old furniture, old tv, stain here and there on carpet. I don't deserve this for 4 star hotel, it look luxury from the outside but run down for the interior. On the good side, the staffs are quite friendly especially from the front desk. The room is spacious and is great for a big family to gather for quality time
So after we have done with dinner, and someone (can’t remember who) suggest we need to consider a river cruise since we in Malacca.
Yes it was exciting experience. A 40 minute cruise along a river cutting right through the city, with beautiful kampung house on each side. It was awesome. I saw many murals on the buildings and it tells the history of Malacca.

Watching people having their breakfast

Next day, I woke up late and what a beautiful Sunday morning and the sky was a bluebird! I was super hungry looking for a breakfast. The breakfast menu from the hotel mostly a local society cuisine. Not much choice available and the taste 2.5/5. I’m sorry hotel but the food was totally under my expectation
View from front

View from back
Forget about the food, back of the hotel, a beautiful garden around the swimming pool and looks straight onto the beach.
This is me

Beef Strips with Orange and Ginger

This is inspired by my dad’s cook but I twist the recipe a bit by using orange instead of lime. This is stir fry cooking, one of the best ways to cook meat with minimum fat. It is also one of the quickest ways to cook, provided you need to choose tender meat. So you will need:

Lean beef rump, fillet or sirloin. What ever, but cut into thin stips
Juice of 1 orange
1 tablespoon of Light soy sauce
Corn flour
2 tablespoons of Sesame oil
1 inch of ginger, finely chopped
Large carrot, cut into thin strips
2 spring onion, thinly sliced
Place the beef strips in a bowl and sprinkle over the orange juice. Leave it to marinate for at least 30 minutes.
Drain the liquid from the meat and set aside, then mix with soy sauce, corn flour and ginger.
Heat the sesame oil in a wok or large frying pan and add the beef. Stir fry for about 1 minute until lightly coloured, then add the spring onions and the liquid that we reserved earlier, then cook and stirring until boiling and thickened.
Lastly, add the carrot and stir fry again for another couple of minutes more.
Now we done! Best served with plain rice or rice noodles.

Estee Lauder Disappear Smoothing Concealer - Part 2

HOW DO I APPLY CONCEALER (+TIPS)
Take a good look of my dark circle under my eyes. I'm starting with the concealer on the inner corner of the eye because this is the darkest part. Apply several dots of concealer under the eyes, then use the pad of your ring finger to tap it in (always tap, never rub). I don’t need that much actually because this big fluffy brush is going to blend out a lot.  The left over I use to side of my nose and blemishes. It's very, very easy and movable with this product.
I love applying concealer with big fluffy brush - Lancome 5. As you can see the size is about my finger, it blends easier, and doesn't leave any streaks, and allows me to spread the product around more, so basically a more even coverage and blend more thoroughly than a traditional concealer brush, which is much smaller.

So as you can see the concealer hide my dark circle naturally, by working in sheer layer and build up gradually. It won’t cake, love it.
**Tips**
If you were using a liquid foundation, you want to apply concealer right over the top of foundation

A Review : Estee Lauder Disappear Smoothing Concealer

The back of the box reads, "For all skintypes. Disguises dark circles, lines and shadows. Soothes, moisturizes and protects. Fragrance-free. Ophthalmologist-tested."

I have using this product for months, and I found it so wonderful. It has a smooth texture and finish, and stays on perfectly. I don't need to put a lot because it's very pigmented and easy to blend. My under eye area is quite dry with some fine lines and this concealer feels smooth, does not settle into fine lines, blends beautifully, never looks heavy on me, and most importantly it makes me look so much more "awake”. It covers wonderfully but does not cake and does not look fake or mask-like as some concealers do. The tube of the is more sanitized, safer and more hygenic than usual concealer in store.

For the price however definitely not the best. Although at a retail price of RM85.00 it would have to be pretty amazing for me to invest. The tube contains 15ML of product, which isn't much but like I will show you on part 2 you only need a little bit. Actually, it's really not that expensive because the tube lasts a very, very long time.

Product: Estee Lauder Disappear Smoothing Concealer
Made: Belgium
Price: Slightly on high side, RM85.00 for 15ml
Product Vote: 4.5/5
Repurchase: Yes 70%. No 30%.

How to Wear Nude Lips

This is a request from a friend of mine to do nude lips look. Well for me, its is great companion for heavy eye makeup or nude look, perfect for any skin tones any age, ideal for any occasions. By all means, its looks good for anyone, provided you have to choose what shades look best for your skin tone.
To get good pouty look, few step you have to consider.
1. Exfoliate lips before to create a smooth surface. It is important to ensure the lips is fully hydrated and smoothHide the imperfection or flaw by apply a generous amount of lip balm and let it soak in for a few minutes. Then rub and blot off the excess.
2. Apply a concealer that is the same tone as your skin, just using your finger. Blend and cover the lips completely.
3. Set the lips by lightly dabbing with powder. This is will make your lipstick last long.
4. Define the lip with a lip pencil with same colour of your lips, and apply lipstick. I quite often  skipped lisptick by filling in my entire lips with lip pencil and add nude gloss.
5. When choosing a gloss, go for either clear or neutral one. If you used a matte lipstick, it's oke to choose a gloss that has just a hint of shimmer to it.
(me loves 27 pink kiss by Estee Lauder). Apply gloss to center of lips and you’re good to go.

I should add more pink blush. Aiseh!!
Add color somewhere on your face to avoid looking washed out. A natural makeup look with tones that mirror your skin tone is pretty, but add a bright blush or eye color to liven things up. And I agree with many that a glossy nude lip really compliments a smokey eye

How to Wear Red Lips

The inspirations
Few shades of red that I have : L-R, Spanish Red(Orangey Red), Scarlet (Deep Cool Red) and Bright Pink. All from Estee Lauder. I love Estee Lauder's lipstick as they are glide smoothly, the scent of fig and taste pleasantly. :)
For this tutorial, I opt for Scarlet.
a. Important, you have to make sure that your lips are ready to receive lipstick. To begin with, dab on a very small amount of lip balm or petroleum jelly to give your lips a little moisture. If you have lip primer, that’s better.

b. Next, draw a thin line along the edge of lips with a lip liner whose color is one shade darker than your lipstick (or almost same with your lipstick). Start at the center of the upper lip and work outward. For the inner corner part of lips, you need to open your mouth to line in the edged. If you skip this part, people will see a gap when you talk, so don’t skip this.
c. Fill in to entire lips to downplay excessively full lips.
** I skipped D sorry.**
e & f. Apply lipstick from the tube or by using a firm, small lipstick brush. Coat the lips evenly to fill in fine lines. Pay special attention to staying within the lips edges.
g & h. Take the brush and apply the concealer around outside of your lips to clean them up and take out any imperfection. This going to make lips pop, to get a defined lips and to avoid the lipstick from feathering
i. There you go.
Optional
If you love your red lips to be a matte and velvety finish, dab a red eye shadow to your lips using your finger. Or, to have a glossy finish, apply with red lip gloss. I just don’t have it so I put a small amount of clear gloss and dab it with lip brush that I used just now. Be precise don’t get it to bleed over.

**Tips**
Wear a rich and boldly colored lipstick to complement soft eye makeup.
I have a full and thick lips. If you have a small lips, give the illusion of a thicker top lip by lining its outermost edges and foregoing liner on the bottom lip.

Hair inspiration - Hantu Kak Limah. LOL!!

FOTD : Miss Rose Brown

Another brown look for FOTD. This is super easy as everyone can do this. I didn't apply any eyeliner for this look and I think this is good for everyday wear, match every skin tones at any age, day or night make up. I did it few weeks ago  but unfortunately I haven't got around to posting it until now.  Sorry I messed up the lash! I should attach the falsies to my skin very next to the my lash line. Well, hope you like it anyway.
I used a Miss Rose Eye Shadow for this look, few shades available. Take a look :)
